Care Team
A message from the Care Team Volunteers…..........
Caring About Others --- Making Our Church Feel like a Family
The words “church” and “caring” are synonymous and we do not want anyone to feel like no one cares about them. By caring for one another we become a strong church family. It is our great joy and pleasure to show our church family that we care about them. We know that from time to time someone may feel forgotten, but please know that it is not intentional. As a circle of caring friends, we try to let everyone in our church know that they are an important part of our church family and for this reason, we are asking that every member of Second Church in as far as they are able, reach out to one another and show that they care, especially to those in need.
We would like to suggest the following: keep in touch with members of the church through visits, by telephone, sending notes or cards, provide acceptance and friendship to new members, offer a meal in a time of need or provide transportation or emergency child care, stay in touch with our members that are unable to attend church or those not feeling well. Let your church family know that they can call on you if needed. No one is too young or too old to show that they care….there are always opportunities. Even a small gesture of caring or kindness is appreciated. If you notice that someone has not been in church lately…get in contact with that person and let them know you are thinking of them.
A caring church makes sure that each member gets the opportunity to grow spiritually. As a group of volunteers we will continue to do our best to show our church family that we care. However, please remember that the Lord desires all of us to be like the Good Samaritan who believed that we have an obligation to help those who need us.
If you are unable to join the Care Team Volunteers at this time but would like to help from time to time (bake a casserole, write notes/cards) please contact Debbie Smith (762-1010) or the Church Office (723-9237)
Thanks for caring!
