Taught by Second’s Cathy Oyer and legendary Miss Betty, our Kindergarten class is classic Sunday School at its finest—just like Mom used to have! Children begin to learn the Lord’s Prayer and the books of the Bible at this age.The BIG House (grades 1-5), Rock Solid (Children’s library Room 208)
An ongoing homegrown production, the BIG House combines worship, crafts, and teaching into a wonderful high-energy blend. Students gather in the Chapel for worship first thing in the morning, and then are escorted to the Children’s Library for the lesson. The group is then split between grades for age appropriate teaching that is clear and concise.6th through 8th Grade, Confirmation Study (Library Room 206)
Middle School students gather around in ancient Japanese furniture for a discussion driven time of what it means to be a Christ-follower—in their classes, on their teams, and with their friends. This is a 35-week confirmation program and also fantastic curriculum for any middle school student.9th through 12th Grade, Stories from the OT (Youth Room)
Forget the TV junk from OC, we got own custom high-drama stories from the OT (aka the Old Testatment). Come hang out, play some ping-pong, paint at our art station, and study with our published curriculum author, Virginia Street. The Well contemporary class, Green Room (room 210)
The Well is our college and young adult oriented Sunday School class that meets at 10:00am on the Second floor of the Education Building. Led by our most exciting and eccentric teachers, we learn everything pertinent from Bible study to apologetics to evangelism and even politics. Wake up a little earlier and come on by.Men’s Bible Study , Blue Room (room 205)
This is perhaps the longest continuous Bible study in Second Church’s history. Clyde Mizzel and others as the men learn the art of exegesis (how to interpret the Bible) and the themes of scripture. For 2009, they will be reading “What’s in the Bible” by R.C. Sproul, available at the church or in your local bookstore.Mixed Adults , The Present Word, room (room 103)
Are you an aspiring Biblical scholar? It’s never too late to become one! Ask questions, compare translations, and study the Scriptures in detail with one of Charleston's finest lawyers, Dingle Howe.
